The Hungarian National Bank began issuing the 200 Hungarian forint banknote in 1998. It was withdrawn from circulation in 2009. The banknote features the portrait of Charles Robert (Károly Róbert), King of Hungary. The inscription “Magyar Nemzeti Bank” appears on the note. The reverse of the 200 HUF banknote shows the ruins of Diósgyőr Castle.

The banknote features Francis II Rákóczi, a Hungarian prince and leader of the Kuruc uprising. The inscription “Magyar Nemzeti Bank” appears on the note. The reverse of the banknote shows the castle in Sárospatak.

The inscription “Magyar Nemzeti Bank” appears on the paper note. In the upper left corner there is the abbreviation “MNB”, representing Magyar Nemzeti Bank.
